Painting - Watercolor On Wood And Framed
Description
"Dog Bit Mountain"- by Barbara Lee Donovan is the very FIRST painting from her landscape series -Patterns in the Wood started in 2016 and series completed in late 2017.
This work consists of watercolor on a 48 x 48 wood canvas and sealed to preserve color.
The topographical style map pattern comes from the wood itself giving the piece a modern twist with interest focused upon the natural pattern and landscape.
This work has an appeal to individuals that served or serve still in the military due to the quickness to notice the look of this style of maps.
The name of the piece is completely fictional and was inspired by the rolling green hills of Virginia where I am from.
The top right corner of the wood canvas being damaged resembled a dog bite or possible (chewing) giving the original it's extra uniqueness. THIS DAMAGE WAS ONLY ON THE ORIGINAL. CANNOT BE SEEN IN PRINTS.
The original is no longer available and was donated to The American Cancer Society to be auctioned off for the Belles and Beaus ball 2017 to be held at the Davidson Center NASA Huntsville, Alabama.
For more info Google the Belles and Beaus Ball 2021 in Huntsville Alabama for more details for this year and upcoming events associated with charitable events.
