Painting - Watercolor On Wood
Description
"Alaska in November"- A 48 x 48 work. Comprised of watercolors applied to wood canvas.
This piece is the third for my "Patterns in the wood" landscape series.
My inspiration comes from the brief time I lived in Alaska and the panoramic views right from the front door.
Viewing the painting your eyes take in the high and low clouds off in the distance. You are whisked away where the air has a crisp chill to it and a distant hint of wood burning stirring up scents of nostalgic memories of holidays past.
Further gazing you become hypnotized with the shear untouched beauty that surrounds you.
Gripping your mug of hot coffee you take a sip and not blink, good thing too cause here comes a moose fast.
Beauty can be a beast and Alaska is no exception.

I traveled up the Dalton Highway years ago and I think this painting captures the essence of the stark beauty of the land. An absolutely gorgeous picture! It brings back good memories. Well done!
