Artist's Description
"Ready for take off little buddy?" - Is a watercolor background painted canvas 18 x 24 horizontal work done first as a sketch then filled in with oil. It is a portrait of an apple head Chihuahua outdoors in the Summer garden yard near a blooming hydrangea bush amongst cabbage butterflies. One has landed on the small dog's nose making a new friend and has gotten comfortable there. The pup is waiting patiently for his new little buddy to take flight and wears him like a mini hood ornament. This original is already sold but a print would be perfect in a child's room or for someone that loves this breed of dog. The colors are as bold as you see and the detail of the dog is crisp down to his folds in his fur. This piece is a part of my for the love of pets series which is currently on display and for sale at the Funky Monkey in Huntsville Alabama.
