Artist's Description
"Romancing the Moon" - by Barbara Lee Donovan was created using a blend of watercolors on plywood. This work is the fifth and final piece to my landscape series Patterns in the Wood. This piece is the only of the four others being a night scene with the moon instead of a sunrise or sunset. The original is currently on display and for sale at 810 Antiques in Decatur, Alabama and the current asking price.
When viewing this piece you get a sense of peace and stillness with the sound of the waves crashing in the night. You imagine yourself wandering out onto the wet sand barefoot as some ghost crabs scurry past and evaporate into the foamy water never to be seen again. Feeling the ocean breeze against your face you stoop down to write in the sand with your finger drawing a heart as a love note to the moon. Goodnight my love where ever you are softly whispering into the oceans ear.
