Afternoon nap- by Barbara Lee Donovan is a oil painting done on black paper first comprised of a white charcoal sketch. My inspiration for this piece comes from a pair of sleeping macaws I photographed while visiting Moody Gardens in Galveston Texas. The birds were very beautiful with bold plumage and were so still as they afternoon napped.
